WTO SPS technical assistance activities for 2026

The IPPC Secretariat informs the plant health community of the WTO SPS technical assistance (TA) activities planned for 2026 under the Agreement on the Application of Sanitary and Phytosanitary Measures (SPS Agreement).
Planned activities include:
- An SPS Thematic Workshop on Transparency, to be held in Geneva, Switzerland, from 22 to 23 June 2026;
- A course on essentials for SPS Committee participation (in French), organized in hybrid format from 1 October to 19 November 2026;
- Regional SPS workshops, organized upon request from regional organizations;
- National SPS seminars, delivered upon request through the WTO Technical Assistance Management System (TAMS);
- An e-learning course on the SPS Agreement, available year-round in English, French, and Spanish.
The IPPC Secretariat encourages contracting parties, National Plant Protection Organizations (NPPOs), and relevant stakeholders to leverage these opportunities to strengthen national phytosanitary systems and enhance participation in international trade discussions.
