Coming up: 18th Session of the Commission on Phytosanitary Measures (CPM-18)

The International Plant Protection Convention (IPPC) is pleased to announce the forthcoming 18th Session of the Commission on Phytosanitary Measures (CPM-18). CPM-18 will be held from 15 - 19 April 2024 at FAO headquarters in Rome, Italy.

CPM is the main governing body of IPPC and is responsible for promoting the worldwide adoption of the convention, international plant health standards and CPM recommendations to protect plant resources from pests and facilitate safe trade.

CPM-18 is expected to adopt modifications to four draft International Standards for Phytosanitary Measures, receive updates on implementation of the IPPC’s eight Development Agenda Items of the IPPC’s Strategic Framework 2020-2030, and facilitate discussions on improving plant protection. Side sessions will be held on CPM Orientation, e-Commerce, and Fusarium oxysporum f.sp. cubense Tropical Race 4 (TR4).

Sessions will be conducted in Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish.
