The IPPC Secretariat cooperates with the World Customs Organization in several areas. To facilitate this cooperation, an Agreement between the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) on behalf of the Secretariat of the International Plant Protection Convention and the World Customs Organization was signed on 19 June 2018 (posted below).

The two Secretariats meet on 18 March 2019 in Rome and agreed to a joint work plan which will promote cooperation, specifically in the areas of sea containers, e-commerce and electronic phytosanitary certification (ePhyto).  The work plan is posted below.
