The IPPC Secretariat is pleased to announce the arrival of Mr Yukio YOKOI as full-time Secretary.

Mr Yokoi has joined the IPPC Secretariat from the Ministry of Agriculture in Japan where he has worked on technical, trade and development issues related to the World Trade Organization (WTO). He has been involved in IPPC matters in the past and more recently he has been involved with issues related to the WTO'™s Sanitary and Phytosanitary Agreement. In addition, while working for the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), he gained experience in various developing countries when dealing with agriculture and rural development issues. He brings valuable expertise to the Secretariat which will help to mobilizing additional resources to ensure the delivery of the Commission on Phytosanitary Measures (CPM) work programme is sustainable.
