Standards Committee Working Group (SC-7) revises draft ISPMs and Standard Setting Procedure (SSP)

The Standards Committee Working Group (SC-7) is gathering at the FAO headquarters in Rome from 15 to 19 May 2023, following the Standards Committee meeting held the week before.

The SC-7 will be revising the 2022 draft amendments to ISPM 5 (Glossary of phytosanitary terms) and the draft annex Criteria for evaluation of available information for determining host status of fruit to fruit flies to ISPM 37 (Determination of host status of fruit to fruit flies (Tephritidae)) to be submitted for second consultation.

Following the decision of the SC November 2022 meeting, the SC-7 will discuss the way forward for the revision of ISPM 15 (Regulation of wood packaging material in international trade): Criteria for treatments for wood packaging material in international trade, and it will review the discussion paper prepared by the assistant steward.

In addition, the SC-7 is tasked to revise and improve the Standard Setting Procedure (SSP).

The report on the meeting will be published on the International Phytosanitary Portal eight weeks after the meeting.
