During the CPM-5 Scientific Session, Professor Clive Brasier of Forest Research UK gave a talk entitled "Scientific and operational flaws in international protocols for preventing entry and spread of plant pathogens via plants for planting". He gave examples of forest pathogens that have been spread through the international movement of plants for planting, and he proposed means by which this risk can be addressed.
Dr. Geoffrey Howard of the IUCN Invasive Species Initiative gave a presentation entitled "Aquatic plants and IPPC". He described the biology of aquatic plants and gave examples of the threats posed by invasive aquatic plants. Click on the links below to view the presentations.
