The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) have released a report titled Investing in trade digitalization: the case of ePhyto.
The report highlights the benefits of transitioning from paper to digital phytosanitary certificates to speed up and enhance the safety of exports of plants and plant products. It is based on trade data analysis and interviews with commercial exporters, government officials, and logistics providers in four countries – Egypt, Serbia, Ukraine, and Uzbekistan.
The new report was released during the 19th Session of the Commission on Phytosanitary Measures (CPM-19), held from 17-21 March in Rome, Italy.
