Call for applications, WTO Regional SPS Workshop for Central and Eastern Europe, Central Asia and the Caucasus (27-30 April 2020, Vienna)

The IPPC Secretariat is pleased to disseminate information about the WTO SPS Regional Workshop for Central and Eastern Europe, Central Asia and the Caucasus to convene on 27-30 April 2020* - Vienna, Austria (Joint Vienna Institute).

The target audience for this Workshop are government officials:

  • holding direct responsibilities in the SPS area, e.g. SPS notification authority or enquiry point; Codex, IPPC or OIE contact points; officials from a relevant Ministry in charge of SPS matters and international trade; and
  • possessing a proven intermediate level of understanding of the principles and structure of the WTO, and of the principles and provisions of the SPS Agreement.

The WTO will be accepting applications until 21 February 2020 online (https://worldtradeorganization.wufoo.eu/forms/2019-wto-sps-technical-assistance-application-form/ ), and preference will be given to candidates who have successfully completed the WTO SPS E-Learning Course by the time of their application.

*Please note this training activity was initially scheduled for September 2019 as described in WTO information note G/SPS/GEN/997/Rev.9. The course was postponed and is now planned for 27-30 April 2020 , in Vienna, Austria. The WTO Secretariat reserves the right to postpone or cancel the activity if sufficient funding is not available, or in the event of any other circumstances beyond its control).
