Short Description

Currently, the Plant Quarantine and Phytosanitary Service(PQPS) has positioned gazetted Plant Health Inspectors (PHIs)at entry/exit points with high agriculture trafic. The borders include Chirundu and Livingstone bordering Zimbabwe, Kazungula bordering Bostwana and Zimbabwe, Sesheke bordering Namibia, Mwamwi bodering Malawi, Nakonde bordering Tanzania, Kasumbalesa bordering Congo DR. However, PQPS has also strengthened its inland phytosanitary system by positioning PHIs at valid intersections such as Kabwe, Kapiri Mposhi, Kasama and Kafue. The Kenneth Kaunda International Airport (KKIA) has PHIs and the Headquarters in Chilanga.
