Since 2000, SENASA-Peru has been executing a survey program for Stenoma catenifer (Lepidoptera: Oecophoridae) aimed at permanently confirming non-occurrence status of this pest in the avocado-growing areas of Peru"s coast. This survey has allowed building up a technical and scientific base to justify the phytosanitay status of the producing departments, in order for Peruvian avocados to access international markets, where this pest is deemed quarantine. Through this work, non-occurrence status of S. catenifer has been confirmed in the following Peruvian departments: Ica, Lima, La Libertad, Moquegua, Arequipa, and Ancash.
