Invasively covers the roadsides and fallow lands including the forests and replaces the indigenous plants. Disturbances to the farm workers and also covers the bunds and bordering areas of cultivated lands. Disturbances to the movement of human and wildlife and poisonous to the domestic animals especially the goats.

Geographical Distribution
Limited to some parts of Jhapa and Morang Districts, especially the areas of previous refugee camps, riverside and roadside. Invasion is spreading.
Summary
The giant sensitive plant, Mimosa diplotricha, has been reported from the eastern terai districts (Jhapa and Morang) which was identified in 2019 and its invasion was declared in 2022.
