Effective 1st April 2016, the Kenyan NPPO (Kenya Plant Health Inspectorate Service) will introduce a new Phytosanitary Certificate with enhanced features.
The Phytosanitary Certificate complies with the template of the International Plant Protection Convention (IPPC) and the provisions of ISPM 12.
The new look Phytosanitary shall have the following features:-
- Bleed through currency numbering from small to big numbers with penetrating ink.
- Invisible UV KEPHIS LOGO - invisible to naked eye but will glow yellow once held under Ultra Violet light.
- 95 gsm cheque paper (water marked paper) with KBA (Kenya Bankers Association) and Kalzmat embossed.
- 2D Hologram with different effects; with multicolor and transparent pink LOGO.
- lntrecated guilloche lines that are never ending to create the logo at the four corners of the paper.
- Three metallic Silver lines at the footer; each with the words Kenya Plant Health Inspectorate service. When scanned or photocopied will lose its shine and appear grey. Hidden text that can be seen when turned at an angle against light will not appear on photocopy or scan.
- Thermochromic ink; appears blue and when rubbed with finger it will disappear due to the heat friction of paper and hand.
