Summary

Outbreak of Asian longhorned beetle (Anoplophora glabripennis) was confirmed in Japan. The NPPO confirmed the first detection of Asian longhorned beetle in Kobe city, Hyogo Prefecture in 2021 since small outbreak occurred and was eradicated in Yokohama city, Kanagawa prefecture in 2004. The NPPO conducted a survey in Kobe city and the local government took pest control measures accordingly, however, further detections have been confirmed in other eight prefectures of Hoshu Island.
