Summary

The plant parasitic nematode Meloidogyne naasi has been found for the first time in the Czech Republic. The finding is located in one golf course in Prague. The nematode has been identified from samples containing growing substrate (sand) and the grass species Festuca rubra and Agrostis stolonifera. The presence of M. naasi can be associated with an extensive decline of the grasses grown on golf greens; however, the damage can also be attributed to another plant parasitic nematode, namely Hemicycliophora sp., which was also present in the samples. No official measures have been taken
