Three consignments containing a total of 50 possibly infested plants of Castanea sativa of Italian origin were delivered to the Czech Republic by one Slovakian company in the spring of 2012. Infested plants were distributed to several places (see Geographical distribution). Most of them were found out or traced forward and these plants were destroyed. All galls on these trees were without exit holes. Two plants were sold to private persons without any possibility to trace them forward. Phytosanitary measures are being performed in accordance to Commission Decision 2006/464/EC.
