Short Description

According to the Council Directive 2000/29/EC enforced in Cyprus, the phytosanitary import requirements, restrictions and prohibitions are specified in Annexes. Specifically, Annex III of the Directive specifies import prohibitions (lists plants, plant products and other objects the introduction of which, if, where appropriate, of specified origin, into the European Union is banned). Section I of Part A of Annex IV lists specific phytosanitary import requirements, which plants and plant products imported into the EU shall comply with. Part B of Annex IV specifies phytosanitary import requirements that shall be complied with by imports into specific Protected Zones in the European Union (Cyprus is a protected zone for Daktulosphaira vitifoliae (Fitch)- grapevine phylloxera, Leptinotarsa decemlineata Say- Colorado potato beetle and Ips sexdentatus Börner- six-toothed bark beetle).
