Over the years the Biosecurity Services Division has developed its systems and processes and increased the capability of its staff to successfully understand and implement the requirements of the 2008 Act and now the 2025 Biosecurity Regulations. The Biosecurity Service’s mandate is to prevent the introduction of unwanted pests and diseases of plants and animals and facilitate trade into and out of the Cook Islands including the monitoring, surveillance, inspection and management of regulated items entering the Cook Islands.
