The NPPO of Chile would like to bring your attention to the attached SAG letter from Mr. Rodrigo Astete, Chief Plant Protection Division related to the Phytosanitary Certificates due to the impact of COVID-19.
Knowing that several NPPOs are receiving scanned copies of the Phytosanitary Certificates to facilitate foreign trade, the Chilean Agricultural and Livestock Service (SAG) has the following URL available to all NPPOs http://multipuerto.sag.gob.cl/visitante/busquedaFito.asp
Through this URL, NPPOs will be able to verify or obtain, directly from the SAG Certification System, an image with all the original data of the PC, in order to guarantee the authenticity of the copy of the original PC, only being required to have the Phytosanitary Certificate Number.
In the case of imports, SAG will accept the presentation of a scanned image of the PC, as an alternative for those importers who do not have the original document, which comes from an official email from the NPPO and addressed to the Chilean contact point IPPC. Certificates that can be verified in the NPPO online certification system will also be accepted.
