The International Plant Protection Convention (IPPC) Secretariat invites nominations from representatives of contracting parties to participate in an Advanced Technical Training Course on Phytosanitary Measures from 30 October to 10 November 2023 in China. The course will be held as part of a global project entitled “Strengthening the Capacity of Developing Contracting Parties to Implement the IPPC and its Standards under the FAO-China South-South Cooperation Programme” (GCP/INT/291/CPR).
The course is planned for up to 30 participants and training sessions will have simultaneous interpretation in Chinese, English, and French. A provisional training course agenda can be found here.
To be eligible, nominees must meet the following criteria: a) Nomination documents must be submitted by the National Plant Protection Organizations (NPPO) of the respective Contracting Parties; b) Nominees should have minimum of 5 years of experience working for an NPPO on phytosanitary issues; and c) Nominees must be able to work and communicate fluently in English or French.
Each NPPO can nominate up to two individuals. Please fill in the necessary details as outlined in this form, and send it to Patrizio Tiscioni, Office Assistant ([email protected]), with copy to Carlotta Armeni, Programme Assistant ([email protected]), using the title "COUNTRY_Nomination to the IPPC Advanced Technical Training Course on Phytosanitary Measures".
The deadline for nominations is August 20, 2023. Selected participants will receive an individual invitation letter in due course.
