In two adjacent private gardens in the north-west of Jersey.
Summary

Notification of an outbreak of Phytophthora ramorum on the Crown Dependency of Jersey, detected during a routine annual island-wide survey for P. ramorum. Eradication measures are currently being applied, including the removal and destruction of infected plants and other hosts within a 5 metre radius. Surveys of all major and non-major hosts (as defined by EPPO), including Quercus spp. and Castanea spp. within a 500-metre radius of both outbreak sites revealed no further symptoms of disease. Ongoing surveillance involves monthly inspections and testing of host plants in the demarcated zone.

Danger
High risk to host tree species in Jersey with resulting impacts on ecology and wider environment. There is no commercial forestry in Jersey.
