Overview
The IPPC is implemented by the Commission on Phytosanitary Measures (CPM), which facilitates cooperation between contracting parties to protect the world's cultivated and natural plant resources from the spread and introduction of pests of plants, while minimizing interference with the international movement of goods and people. The CPM's core activities are identified in its Business Plan and planned through consultation with contracting parties. All activities have associated measures of success to enable progress with achievement to be monitored. IPPC's core activities include:
