The IPPC Secretariat is pleased to announce the publication of the Desk Study Report on Risk-based Border Management.

The purpose of the study is to assess import inspection and border management practices of national plant protection organizations (NPPOs) to improve implementation of the inspection-related ISPMs. Based on the assessment, the study aims to create harmonized guidance on best practices for risk-based border control management of plants and plant products that reduce risks and facilitate safe trade.

The study was funded by the European Commission, under the third cycle (2018–2022) of the IPPC Implementation Review and Support System (IRSS) project and is available here.
