- Résumé
Symptoms consisting of distinct angular leaf spots were seen on leaves on 12-14 week old seedlings at the first property. Since seed from Africa has been distributed to Western Australia and Queensland, the technical feasibility of eradication is extremely low. It is unknown if the disease is of economic importance. Disease spread in affected nurseries has been limited by application of copper sprays.
- Danger
-
Mahogany angular leaf spot has been detected on seedlings at two unlinked commercial nurseries in the Northern Territory. There are reasonable grounds to believe that the disease is seed borne. Both nurseries sourced seed from Africa. If the disease is seed borne, it is potentially widespread in Australia because of the amount and distribution of seed received from Africa over recent years, although no disease was observed in other regions during delimitation surveillance.
