Call for phytosanitary treatments

The International Plant Protection Convention (IPPC) Secretariat is soliciting submissions for Phytosanitary treatments to be adopted as international standards, as annexes to ISPM 28 (Phytosanitary treatments for regulated pests).

Submissions will be accepted from Contracting Parties or Regional Plant Protection Organizations (RPPOs). Submissions should be sent through the respective IPPC Official Contact Point.

Instructions for submissions

Data in these submissions will be reviewed rigorously, and will result in a clearly stated level of efficacy.

Please completely fill out the Submission Form for Phytosanitary Treatments and submit it along with all supporting documentation to the IPPC Secretariat by e-mail ([email protected]).

The name of the submitting country or RPPO and the words “Call for Phytosanitary Treatments” should be placed in the subject line of the email message.

The submission should include all of the information required and outlined in ISPM 28 (Phytosanitary treatments for regulated pests), keeping in mind the Criteria for justification and prioritization of proposed topics.

The submission should identify a contact person for the treatment who may be contacted for clarification as required.

Process for the adoption of phytosanitary treatments:

The submission forms are collected by the Secretariat, then compiled and forwarded to the Technical Panel on Phytosanitary Treatments (TPPT) to review the submission and evaluate them against ISPM 28 and the Criteria for justification and prioritization of proposed topics. The treatments will be adopted through the IPPC Standard Setting Procedure and posted at the adopted phytosanitary treatments as Annexes to ISPM 28.

Please note: All phytosanitary treatment submissions are posted below along with the supporting documentation. If the supporting documentation is confidential, the submitter should indicate this on the submission form.

*2022-09 UPDATE*: New submissions are sought! The TPPT is continuously reviewing the submissions.**

*2021-11 UPDATE*: 4 new phytosanitary treatment submissions were received. These are posted below. The call is still ongoing.Phytosanitary Treatments (PTs) are submitted by NPPOs or RPPOs for evaluation as an international standard in response to a call for submissions by the IPPC Secretariat. The IPPC Secretariat issues a call for PTs as required.

*2020-11 UPDATE* The call is still open for submissions for phytosanitary treatments. Read the instructions below on how to submit new treatment proposals for ISPM 28.

*2019-07 UPDATE*: The TPPT is continuously reviewing the submissions. The call is still open until resources are available and the next cutoff date is the 30 January 2020 (to be evaluated at the 2020 TPPT meeting).

*2018-08 UPDATE*: The TPPT is continuously reviewing the submissions. The call is still open until resources are available and the next cutoff date is the 30 January 2019 (to be evaluated at the 2019 TPPT meeting).

*2017-07 UPDATE*: 25 treatment submissions arrived before the 05 June 2017, they are all posted below. The supporting documentation is also posted, when the submitter allowed it. The TPPT will review the submissions in order of priority. The next deadline is 30 January 2018 (to be evaluated at the 2018 TPPT meeting) but call is open until resources are available.
