The IPPC Secretariat is pleased to announce the launch of a new e-learning course Engaging with stakeholders on Plant Health, available on the IPPC Plant Health Campus.

This self-paced e-learning course provides guidance on how national plant protection organizations (NPPOs) can establish and maintain stakeholder relationships in the context of plant protection. It emphasizes the importance of effective stakeholder engagement, the benefits of inclusive and sustainable partnerships and the need for cooperation, collaboration, and coordination with stakeholders, including other government entities—to achieve common goals efficiently and effectively. It also offers practical strategies for developing strong partnerships that support phytosanitary policy and help safeguard plant health.

The course is part of a growing library of certified e-learning resources developed by the IPPC Secretariat and the FAO elearning Academy. Visit the IPPC Plant Health Campus and take the course here.

The IPPC Plant Health Campus is a free, multilingual platform offering e-learning courses, guides, and tools accessible to all.

Who should enroll? National stakeholders, heads of NPPOs and NPPO staff involved in managing stakeholder relationships.

Learning outcomes:

  • Define stakeholders in the context of plant health
  • Key areas for stakeholder engagement, such as policies and legislation, pest risk communication, phytosanitary operations, and market access.
  • Benefits of collaboration for NPPOs and stakeholders on meeting NPPO's mandate and carrying out its functions as specified in the IPPC.
  • Effective procedures to build and manage stakeholder relationships effectively.

Upon completion, participants earn a digital badge certifying the skills acquired—supporting professional development and recognition. Learners are encouraged to share their badge on platforms such as LinkedIn.
