Resumen

Maas (1986) and Hancock (2008) note S. fragariae as present in Australia but provide no further information, or a source for the claim. These records are unreliable as no further details or reference to specimens to verify presence is included in either record.

There have been several records of S. fragariae in Australia. Three (DAR 7929, DAR 71780, VPRI 1784) were misidentified and have been formally identified as Septoria aciculosa (Priest, 2006). One record from Queensland (BRIP 5769) consists of a microscope slide only and as there is no living culture, determination by molecular methods is not possible. Further, an annotation slip with the specimen states 'unable to determine species'. Therefore the status for Queensland is considered to be 'Absent: pest records unreliable'.

Therefore, the status for S. fragariae for Australia is 'absent: pest records unreliable'.
