The International Conference on Fall Armyworm Research-for-Development - Status and Priorities for Africa was held at the African Union Commission (AUC) campus in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia (29-31 October). Three intense days of meetings and discussions brought together over 220 experts from international leading scientific institutions and organizations worldwide.
The development and the implementation of harmonized protocols, able to include multi-location assessment of relationship between crop damage due to FAW and yield losses, have been highlighted as one of the priorities for the scientific community. Moreover, the access to new technologies to control the FAW impact in Africa has been underlined as another recommendation. The organizers of the Conference will soon formulate an action plan.
