Working with the Law Division of UNEP, Diane is a deeply committed international environmental specialist with a Masters degree in Plant Protection and Land use Planning. She has harnessed over 20-years of broad experience in strategic policy development and programme management in the domains of environmental governance and multilateralism, biodiversity conservation and sustainable development. She has led numerous large-scale UN inter-agency programmes and public-private partnerships working in the fields of agriculture, forestry and coastal management domains in Asia, Africa, and the Middle East, strengthening the nexus between land, water, and natural resources. Besides English, Diane commands Arabic, French, and Spanish languages, and can forge strategic private-public partnerships. She currently leads the Environmental Treaties Programme-Realizing Synergies for Biodiversity and a UNDA project on Strengthening the Environmental dimension of SDGs. Diane is a French-Lebanese, mother of two children, and currently living in Nairobi, Kenya

Diane understands complex landscapes in many regions, the agriculture/biodiversity and socio-political linkages, and finding integrated approaches for policy coherence.. Her strengths are in strategic systems thinking, science-policy analysis, strengthening institutions, diplomacy and international negotiations.
