Now open: 2026 IPPC Diagnostic Protocols consultation period

The IPPC Secretariat is pleased to announce a 90-day consultation period for three draft Diagnostic Protocols (DPs). The following drafts are now available for review:

• Bactrocera zonata and Bactrocera correcta (2021-013) – two highly significant polyphagous fruit flies that feed on a wide range of plant families.
• Dickeya spp. on Solanum tuberosum (2021-014) – bacteria species affecting potato plants and tubers
• Drosophila suzukii (2021-017) – a polyphagous fruit fly that feeds on economically important soft-skinned fruits.

Contracting parties are invited to review the draft DPs and submit their comments through the IPPC’s Online Commenting System (OCS) by 30 April 2026.

NB: This consultation period does not replace the annual consultation period prescribed by the Standard Setting Procedure, which runs from July to September.
