IPPC Technical Panel on Diagnostic Protocols and NPPO of Japan to hold technical capacity building workshop

The IPPC Secretariat is pleased to inform the plant health community that the IPPC Technical Panel on Diagnostic Protocols (TPDP) and the national plant protection organization (NPPO) of Japan are jointly organizing a workshop on “Boosting agricultural resilience: Novel plant pest diagnostic techniques” on 25 October 2024 in Yokohama, Japan. The workshop will facilitate brainstorming, collaboration, and knowledge exchange on innovative ideas to improve plant pest diagnostics.

Other objectives are to:

  • increase awareness of the IPPC standard setting procedure and the work of the TPDP;
  • Increase knowledge of the latest advancements in plant pest diagnostic techniques and enhance capacity building;
  • Increase knowledge of the work of Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries of Japan on plant pest diagnostics;
  • Enhance collaboration among TPDP members, IPPC Secretariat and NPPO of Japan.
