Posted on Tue, 12 Dec 2023, 10:37

Deadline on Thu, 22 Feb 2024, 23:59

Do not miss a great opportunity to share your experience and inspire the IPPC phytosanitary community.

The International Plant Protection Convention (IPPC) Secretariat is inviting IPPC contracting parties, RPPOs and CPM observers to submit stories of successes, challenges and solutions to the implementation of the IPPC, ISPMs and CPM Recommendations.

This will be an opportunity to deliver a presentation of success stories at the Eighteenth Session of the Commission on Phytosanitary Measures (CPM-18) in April 2024.

Please submit your proposal via email with the subject line “Submission for the call: CPM-18 session on successes and challenges in implementation of the IPPC, ISPMs and CPM Recommendations”, to Ms Rokhila MADAMINOVA ([email protected]), with copy to Mr Patrizio TISCIONI ([email protected]), by Thursday, 22 February 2024, with a one-page summary in English, addressing the following points:

  1. What is the proposed title of your presentation?
  2. What specific challenge/s or success have you experienced?
  3. What actions were taken to address it?
  4. What is the effect – or anticipated effect - of the actions taken?
  5. How can your story inspire or help others?

Cases will be selected based on the following criteria:

All submitted cases meeting the above criteria and received before the deadline will be compiled into a CPM-18 (2024) document.

A maximum of five cases will be further selected by the IPPC Secretariat based on geographic representation and the diversity of the issue for a 5-minute presentation at CPM-18 (2024), in plenary by the submitter. The IPPC Secretariat will liaise with the submitter on the preparation of the presentation.

Past cases of successes and challenges in implementation presented during CPM-14 (2019) are available here.

Do not hesitate to contact Rokhila MADAMINOVA ([email protected]) for further information.
