Posted on Tue, 09 Jun 2026, 10:08

Deadline on Fri, 31 Jul 2026, 23:59

The International Plant Protection Convention (IPPC) Secretariat is soliciting case studies for inclusion in the IPPC Guide Audit in the phytosanitary context to support the implementation of International Standard for Phytosanitary Measures (ISPM) 47 Audit in the phytosanitary context and other ISPMs that reference audits.

Deadline: Submissions for case studies are due 31 July 2026. An extension may be granted upon request.

Purpose

This call is intended to solicit case studies that may be used to enhance the content of the IPPC Guide Audit in the phytosanitary context (2021-009) to support the implementation of ISPM 47 (Audit in the phytosanitary context) and other ISPMs that reference audits.

The IPPC Secretariat is looking for practical examples that show how an NPPO is implementing ISPM 47 in its phytosanitary system. Cases studies may describe, for example, how an NPPO planned, conducted, documented, or followed up on an audit, as well as any challenges faced, lessons learned, and good practices identified.

The purpose of these case studies is to provide concrete, real-world experiences to improve understanding of how ISPM 47 can be implemented in practice.

Scope of the IPPC guide

The purpose of this guide is to provide National Plant Protection Organizations (NPPOs) with practical guidance and promote best practices for carrying out systems audits and focused audits in their own territory, or in the territory of another NPPO. It is intended to support the harmonized implementation of ISPM 47 (Audit in the Phytosanitary Context) and other ISPMs that reference audits.

The Implementation and Capacity Development Committee (IC) approved the outline for the Audit in the phytosanitary context (2021-009) which is available here.

Who can submit case studies?

National Plant Protection Organizations (NPPO) and Regional Plant Protection Organizations (RPPO) are invited to submit case studies for consideration. Other international organizations are invited to submit case studies through their country NPPO.

Please note that submissions will be reviewed by the IPPC Secretariat and Working Group experts, and only those recommended for inclusion will be published. Submissions will be selected using the following criteria:
