IPPC Secretariat to take part in an FAO webinar on role of plant health in One Health

The International Plant Protection Convention (IPPC) Secretariat is pleased to inform the plant health community that the secretariat will take part in the first in a series of webinars on One Health, organized by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) office in Geneva. The webinar, titled “One Health and plant health: Strengthening phytosanitary systems worldwide”, will be held on Friday 24 November 2023 from 10:00 – 11:15 CET.

It will focus on the importance of plant health to the establishment of One Health, considering the impact of globalization and its effects on safe trade and the movement of plant pests and diseases. The webinar will also emphasize the importance of plant health for food security, environmental protection and biodiversity, including the effects of climate change.
