IPPC Diagnostic Protocols author publishes book on plant health challenges and prospects in the next decade

The International Plant Protection Convention (IPPC) Secretariat is pleased to inform the plant health community that María Milagros López González, plant health expert and author of five IPPC Diagnostic Protocols, has co-authored a book titled: “La sanidad vegetal en la agricultura y la silvicultura: Retos y perspectivas para la próxima década” or Plant health in agriculture: Challenges and prospects for the next decade.

The book explains the role of plant health in agriculture and forestry today and in the future, aware of the rapid changes in the global agrifood system. It recognizes international efforts to advance plant health such as the United Nation Year of Plant Health in 2020 and comments on the impact of human, animal and environmental interaction, under the One Health concept, on agriculture, and the environment.
